Developed by the Ministry of Interior, the Citizen Digital Certificate enables certain types of government applications to be submitted and handled online, without the need to visit a government office in person. It may be used for tax filings, for example. Despite this, such certificates may not be regarded by Taiwanese authorities as general digital identities.1
