Lending in Denmark

Main Page

Credit information services must be licensed with the DFSA through Section 60 of the Payments Act. This application process is similar to those for payment services, but less arduous. When licensees are approved, credit information companies will be endorsed as payment service companies and be required to adhere to the obligations under the Payments Act, except where exempted. Additionally, insurance against misuse or illegal access of their services must also be held by these companies.1

As a credit institution, the provider must apply for a licence if it actually provides loans for its own account (after syndicating the lenders by public deposits).1
