Investment advisers and asset managers must be registered with the CNBV, after having met the requirements such as obtaining a credit history check, certification from an industry association and completing a compliance and anti-money laundering policy. The fintech amendments have authorized the CNBV to issue specific regulations for robo-advisers, although these have yet not been issued. But some investment advisers have already gone ahead and taken a digital business approach guided by traditional investment adviser and asset manager regulations.1
